How to Bring Up the pH of Your Body...

Overview
Your body maintains a normal pH level of 7.35 to 7.45. This is just above a neutral pH level of 7. If your body's pH dips too low, you can experience a condition called acidosis. This can be caused by conditions such as
diabetes, cancer or extended oxygen deprivation. The most extreme forms of acidosis can even result in death. Maintaining a proper alkalinity is vital to your health.

Step 1
Eat foods that are higher in alkalinity to raise your pH, such as
fruits and vegetables. High-alkalinity vegetables include asparagus, lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower. High alkalinity fruits include watermelon, kiwi, apples and oranges. Even acidic fruits like citrus will become alkaline in your body during digestion and increase alkalinity.
Eliminate all the foods in your diet that can cause your acidity levels to elevate. Give up deep-fried foods, cakes, cookies, burgers, fries, muffins and white bread. Foods such as pasta, cheese, eggs and milk are not necessarily unhealthy, but they are high in acid and should be avoided.

Step 2
Drink vegetable and fruit juices to raise alkalinity. Stop drinking alcohol, coffee, sweetened tea and any other beverage that contains sugar. Replace them all with mineral water, which is high in alkalinity. Slice up some lemons and limes or cucumbers and add them to your water to boost the alkaline content even more.

Step 3
Avoid foods that are higher in acidity, which can bring down your pH. All types of meat, from red meat to poultry and seafood, are acidic. Beans and grains also raise acidity, especially the more processed varieties such as white flour and products made from it. Whole grains are lower in acidity than white flour but still lean towards the acidic side of the pH scale. Other grains to avoid include barley and cereals.

Tips and Warnings
Check your pH on a daily basis to monitor your progress. Take out a pH testing strip when you use the bathroom and apply a urine sample to it. Wait for it to change color and match it to the color on the chart that comes with the kit. If it is dark green, you are alkaline; if it is a lighter tan color, you are acidic. You can also get litmus paper to test your pH levels. If you use this, rip off about a 2-inch piece and use either a urine or saliva sample.
